Stewart Cannon – Managing Partner
Mr. Cannon has established a body of work in the offshore industry since graduating from the University of New Brunswick in 1980. He has worked on all six habitable continents and spent over two years north of the Arctic Circle. During that time he positioned the first floating rig to drill an offshore well in the American Beaufort Sea as well as the Chukchi Sea. He has developed three generations of real-time positioning software, been involved in ownership of several well-known survey companies and was a high level executive with Thales GeoSolutions. He is the founder of 4D Nav, LLC.
Kevin Sorensen – Chief Technical Officer
Mr. Sorensen is responsible for all software engineering architecture and design at 4D Nav, LLC. He has been designing and implementing complex software and hardware systems specializing in geomatics, video and IP networks for almost 20 years. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree with distinction in Geomatics Engineering from the University of Calgary and a Geomatics and Surveying Engineering Technology diploma from Saskatchewan Polytechnic.
Errol Leighton – Vice President
Mr. Leighton has been involved in the offshore survey industry for more than 30 years. His broad range of experience includes software and systems’ development, project management and commissioning of advanced products. He has been integral to development of several 4D Nav products, including RigNav, PipelayView and PEMS.
Geoff Wright – Vice President Operations
Mr. Wright has 30+ years of experience in the offshore surveying industry primarily involved with the design, development and support of real-time positioning software. In his role of VP Operations, he is responsible for managing field operations and software deployment including installation, commissioning, training, technical support and liaising with clients. Mr. Wright has a Diploma of Surveying Technology from the British Columbia Institute of Technology and a B.Sc. of Surveying Engineering from the University of New Brunswick.
Kenneth Richter – Quality Control Manager
Mr. Richter is responsible for the operation and growth of 4D Nav’s QC services. He has extensive experience in multiple fields in the oil and gas industry, with hydrographic surveying being his primary focus for the past 10 years.
The majority of Mr. Richter’s experience comes from working in the field applying advanced technical approaches to solve challenging projects. He attended Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi while working as a completions engineer in the south Texas oil fields. From there he moved into the offshore geotechnical field where he worked his way up from survey technician, project coordinator, project manager and then to manager of QC Projects.
